Job Description

General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking an experienced and hands-on Perforce Administrator with 6–8+ years of experience to join its global Software Engineering IT team. This role involves managing and optimizing a large-scale, globally distributed Perforce SCM infrastructure, supporting cutting-edge engineering development initiatives. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of Perforce internals, SCM best practices, DevOps integrations, and Linux systems administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and administer Perforce servers, including Edge Replicas, proxies, and Swarm for peer review integration
  • Manage high availability and disaster recovery setups for business continuity
  • Administer security policies, user/group permissions, and LDAP integrations
  • Implement branching strategies, CI/CD integrations, and SCM workflows
  • Work closely with teams to define hosting and cloud requirements for CI pipelines
  • Automate monitoring and analytics using Splunk to enable predictive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot complex performance and database issues within the Perforce environment
  • Support integrated toolchains in a DevOps ecosystem for rapid, secure development
  • Contribute to system administration for Linux-based environments and have working knowledge of storage technologies (NAS/SAN) and networking fundamentals
  • Participate in 24x7 global support rotations and cross-functional collaboration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of IT experience
  • OR
  • No degree with 6+ years of hands-on IT/SCM systems experience
  • Experience managing and scaling large Perforce deployments in engineering environments

Preferred Skills & Tools:

  • Deep knowledge of Perforce administration and database internals
  • Familiarity with Swarm, CodeCollaborator, CI tools, and scripting for automation
  • Experience in DevOps workflows and tools integration
  • Strong in Linux administration, storage systems (NAS/SAN), and basic networking
  • Experience with Splunk, security policies, and monitoring tools

Work Requirements:

  • Occasionally lift and transport equipment up to 20 lbs
  • Comfortable working in 24x7 support environments
