nd-to-end mainframe testing activities for COBOL-based applications, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and data requirements for mainframe systems.
- Coordinate and oversee system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for mainframe components.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, and business teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and drive timely resolutions.
- Ensure test coverage for batch jobs, online transactions, file processing, and database interactions in mainframe environments.
- Implement and enforce testing standards, best practices, and quality metrics appropriate for 5–15 years of experience at a lead level.
- Mentor and guide junior testers, providing technical leadership in mainframe testing techniques and tools.
- Participate in impact analysis for change requests and releases, estimating testing effort and planning resources accordingly.
- Prepare clear test reports, defect metrics, and status updates for stakeholders and management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, including test optimization, reusability, and risk-based testing approaches.
