Role Overview
The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end execution, control, and compliance of all end-user IT assets within the organization. This role encompasses both on-ground operational tasks (L1)such as allocation, collection, and stock reconciliationand advanced deployment and strategic control (L2)such as OS deployment, product evaluation, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset Lifecycle Management & Deployment (L1 & L2)
- Manage the allocation and collection of IT assets (laptops, desktops, accessories) for new joiners, replacement cases, and IMAC (Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes) requests.
- Execute asset staging and re-staging, including OS deployment/upgradation (Windows/Mac), imaging coordination, and testing for readiness. (L2)
- Perform Physical Asset Verification (PAV), inactive, and dual asset checks, ensuring warehouse stock accuracy against physical and system inventory. (L1/L2)
- Support product evaluation and NPI (New Product Introduction) cycles, including benchmarking new hardware models. (L2)
2. Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, zero-deviation records of all asset transactions in the ASSET tool.
- Generate daily and weekly MIS reports, utilizing excellent MS Excel skills for documentation and analysis.
- Prepare audit reports and compliance documentation to ensure internal and external audit readiness.
- Assist in E-waste segregation, HDD degaussing, and related compliance activities. (L1)
3. Coordination & Escalation
- Coordinate with users, logistics teams, vendors, and business HR for new joiner projection planning and timely asset fulfilment.
- Provide escalated support to L1 teams for complex IMAC, PAV, and asset tracking issues. (L2)
- Identify operational gaps, troubleshoot asset tracking issues, and recommend process improvements in the asset lifecycle flow. (L2)
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 25 years of experience in IT Asset Management, Desktop Support, or IT Operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of OS Deployment (Windows/Mac), imaging tools, and asset staging processes.
- Asset/Inventory Knowledge: Good understanding of IT hardware (laptops/desktops) and warehouse inventory management principles.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent MS Excel, reporting, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Competencies: Strong coordination, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and handle escalations.
