What To Expect
At elipse you will help build a world where housing is affordable and within reach of all humanity. To achieve our mission, we're re-inventing the entire value chain of how a house is built from the ground up. We are going to start with interiors, partnering with developers and eventually make homes and buildings into compute modules to create an interface to physical space with eHome.
You will have access to the top developers of the country's fastest growing metropolitan city. You will be given unprecedented access to spatial data of hundreds of homes. We're launching our proprietary home configurator for its Trilok community in Shamshabad, Hyderabad. You will join a small group of world class engineers to develop state-of-the-art spatial technologies to be integrated into eHomes and elipse Configurator. You will help build real life jarvis that is deeply embedded in the home interior.
What you will actually do
- Hub Hardware Design: You will design and prototype the eHome hub around the Raspberry Pi 5 — custom carrier boards, power delivery, thermal management, spacial ai for production ready eHomes.
- Sensor Networks: You will integrate 40+ sensor types across environmental, safety , energy monitoring , and presence detection (PIR, mmWave radar). Write system integrations and algorithms that integrate all of this data and projects it onto the baseline 3d of the house we already have.
- Power & Safety Systems: You will design power distribution for the hub and all peripheral nodes. You will build safety-critical circuits — arc fault detection, current transformers, emergency relay shutoff — that must work every single time.
- eHome Protocol (Hardware Layer): You will contribute to the physical and electrical layer of the proprietary eHome protocol. You will define connector standards, wiring topologies, and hardware handshake mechanisms for device communication across the elipse ecosystem.
- Production & Scale: You will take prototypes to production. You will create BOMs, work with manufacturers, design for testability, and build hardware that survives real homes — humidity, heat, dust, and years of continuous operation.
Skills & Experience
- PCB Design & Prototyping: You can take a circuit from schematic to PCB layout to manufactured board. You're proficient in KiCad or Altium, you know DFM rules, and you've shipped hardware that works outside the lab.
- Embedded Microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi & ESP32): You're deeply comfortable with Raspberry Pi 5 GPIO, device tree overlays, kernel drivers, and ESP32 firmware development. You know how to read a datasheet and make a sensor work on the first try
- Communication Protocols: You know I2C, SPI, UART, 1-Wire, and MQTT at the electrical level — not just the software API. You understand signal integrity, pull-up resistors, bus capacitance, and clock stretching. You understand networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, WebSocket, mDNS) and can contribute to designing a proprietary communication protocol from the ground up.
- Power Electronics & Analog Design: You understand voltage regulation, current sensing, AC-DC conversion, and thermal design.
- Adaptability: We work with frontier and ever changing technologies, so you have to be a first principles thinker to grasp things quickly and contribute.
