Interior Designer

Organization Description: Jaipur Rugs is a social enterprise that connects rural craftsmanship with global markets through its luxurious handmade carpets. It is a family-run business that offers an exclusive range of hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs made using 2500 years old traditional art forms. The founder, Mr. Nand Kishore Chaudhary created a unique business model, which provides livelihood to the artisans at their doorstep. This changed the standard practice of involving middlemen to work with artisanal communities. The company currently has a network of over 40,000 artisans spread across 600 rural Indian villages in five states of India. It has an end-to-end business model, right from sourcing of wool to exporting a finished handmade rug.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend walk-in customers and understand their design and furnishing requirements
• Provide product recommendations based on customer preferences, space planning, and interior aesthetics
• Assist customers in selecting rugs, home décor, furniture, and related products
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and product suggestions when required
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, architects, and interior designers
• Conduct follow-ups with prospective customers and convert inquiries into sales
• Maintain showroom displays and ensure products are presented attractively
• Coordinate with internal teams for order processing, delivery, and customer support
• Stay updated on interior design trends, materials, colors, and market development
• Handle customer queries and provide excellent after-sales support

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong design sensibility and creativity
• .Excellent knowledge of space planning and aesthetics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, V-Ray, 3D Max, or similar design software.
• Good understanding of materials, furniture, lighting, and finishes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle client interactions professionally.
• Good project coordination and vendor management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
