Instrumentation Engineer having 8+ years of experience in the field of Instrumentation and control engineering with relevant background in Oil & Gas, will report to project manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents and material and equipment specifications. Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards.
- Conducts deep review of safety systems; SIS, ESD and FGS designs including F&G detector installations against standards.
- Liaise between customer & control panel supplier and review panel GAs and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrate good understanding of cable selections and their compliance to O&G safety standards and installation methods.
- Assess intrinsically safe loops for their design compliance to HAZOP classified deployments.
- Review Instrumentation datasheets and validate necessary certifications and application standards.
- Prepare, check and/or review Logic Diagrams, IO counts, P&IDs, Loops, Logical checks. etc.
- Involve in Pre-comm, Commissioning activities as necessary at site.
- Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Mechanical teams to integrate instrumentation designs into overall project plans.
- Lead technical reviews, including HAZOP studies, to ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., API, ANSI, ISA).
- Provide expertise in control systems design, including redundancy methods while integration of various PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. (Yokogawa, Honeywell, ABB, Allen Bradley, Schneider preferred)
- Ability to prepare / modify instrumentation engineering designs, specifications, and technical drawings using any engineering software like INTOOLS (SPI), AUTOCAD, COMOS will be an added advantage.
- Specify and procure field instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and control valves.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in instrumentation design and control systems.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field; Master s degree preferred.
- 8-15 years of experience in instrumentation design within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA) and their application in industrial environments.
- Familiarity with international standards such as API, ANSI, and ISA relevant to instrumentation and control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
Work Environment
- Requires the ability to travel to client locations, Engineering partner & Vendor Locations as well as project sites overseas, whenever required.
