Overview:
The instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineer is responsible for engineering design at various phases of the project to meet project requirements in the field of instrumentation and process automation. The engineer shall be involved in proposal preparation along with design manager with host which includes scope & schedule understanding, deliverables finalization, Effort estimation.
The Engineer will need a thorough understanding of the operational processes of an organisation as the role is multidisciplinary, working closely with colleagues across all disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Able to handle multiple projects as a lead design engineer
- Performing the tasks in all project execution phases i.e. Concept, Basic, Detail engineering.
- Project execution by following DES Quality system.
- Project reports preparation (QC plan, Discipline progress tracker & Defect tracker)
- Deliverable list(s) preparation.
- Design deliverable preparation and review to ensure required quality.
- Responsible for project deliverables as per schedule.
- Resources planning / forecast
- Coordination with Host, DMs and other leads, to resolve inter disciplinary issues.
- Participation in technical meetings with vendors and consultants.
- To work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the control and instrumentation engineering requirements of the projects were effectively and technically delivered as per schedule.
- Vendor documents review and comments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in I&C, E&I, E&C
- 8 -15 Years
- Concepts / Design basis preparation in Concept, Basic and Detail engineering phases.
- Design, selection, installation, commissioning of Instrumentation for various applications.
- 3D model review for scope of work as per SPM
- Installation, Typical details, schematics & hook-ups - preparation
- Instrument Specifications and Data sheets preparation
- Automation systems PCS (DCS/PLC), SCADA, IBMS, BMS/EMS Systems design.
- Familiar with layers of OSI model for process control systems including Fieldbus design.
- Review of bids & technical evaluation reports preparation
- Schedule, I/O lists, Instrument Index - Preparation
- Understanding of safety and environmental requirements and risk assessment
- Knowledge of local code of practice and International Standards for design implementation
- Experience in design Tools: AUTOCAD, REVIT, NAVIS WORKS etc. Added advantage.
