Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure & DevOps Consultant with strong expertise in Linux system administration, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Linux-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, automation, and operational efficiency across production environments.
This role combines traditional Linux infrastructure engineering with modern DevOps practices including CI/CD automation, containerization, and cloud infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
Linux Infrastructure & System Administration
- Deploy, manage, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure environments (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu) across development, staging, and production systems.
- Perform system configuration, patch management, kernel updates, and performance tuning.
- Support image management and provisioning systems such as Koji, Kiwi, or Cobbler.
- Maintain RPM packaging workflows and OS image build processes.
- Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning, log analysis, and system diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
DevOps & Automation
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for repeatable infrastructure deployments.
Containerization & Cloud Platforms
- Build and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support container orchestration environments and manage deployments across environments.
- Work with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure to manage scalable infrastructure.
- Configure networking, load balancing, security groups, and cloud monitoring tools.
Monitoring, Reliability & Operations
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Ensure 24x7 system availability, reliability, and performance optimization.
- Participate in production support and incident response activities.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and system scalability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Linux infrastructure engineering or DevOps roles.
- Strong experience with Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or SaltStack.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Proficiency in Shell/Bash scripting and Python for automation.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SNMP).
- Familiarity with Git-based version control systems.
Good to Have
- Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
- Exposure to microservices-based architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
- Linux certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, or LPIC.
