HR Manager Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

About the RoleThe HR Manager O&M will own and drive the complete human resources function for the Operations & Maintenance division. This role requires a highly hands-on HR professional with proven expertise in talent acquisition, team building, performance management, and people operations in manpower-intensive environments.
The role combines strong execution with leadership.
You will personally handle recruitment while supervising payroll, compliance, and HR operations.
This is not a policy-only or senior advisory roleit demands ground-level execution with accountability.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Workforce Planning (Core Responsibility)- Independently manage end-to-end recruitment for the O&M division.
- Personally execute hiring across levels:
- Site staff, supervisors, engineers, operations and support roles.
- Lead high-volume blue-collar recruitment using:
- Local sourcing, contractors, vendors, referrals, and offline channels.
- Manage white-collar hiring through:
- LinkedIn
- Naukri and other job portals
- Social media and professional networks.
- Work closely with operations leadership on manpower planning and deployment.
- Deliver urgent and time-bound hiring requirements without compromising quality.
Proven, hands-on recruitment experience is mandatory.
Team Building & Talent Management- Build and strengthen the HR function for the O&M division.
- Support operations teams in building stable, disciplined, and high-performing site teams.
- Design and implement onboarding, induction, and engagement processes.
- Improve retention through structured hiring, performance tracking, and proactive engagement.
- Act as a key people partner to site leadership.
Performance Management- Design and implement performance management frameworks for O&M staff.
- Define role-wise KPIs in coordination with operations teams.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and feedback cycles.
- Identify underperformance and drive corrective actions.
- Support promotions, role changes, and exits based on objective evaluation.
Payroll Supervision- Supervise payroll processing (internal team or external vendors).
- Ensure accurate validation of attendance, overtime, incentives, and deductions.
- Coordinate with finance to ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Resolve payroll-related escalations from sites.
- Ensure zero payroll delays and discrepancies.
Statutory Compliance & Labour Law Oversight- Oversee statutory compliance including PF, ESIC, and applicable labour laws.
- Ensure contractor and vendor compliance across all O&M sites.
- Maintain statutory records, registers, and documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and authorities when required.
- Ensure audit readiness for internal, client, and statutory audits.
HR Operations & Site Support- Travel regularly to project sites for HR reviews and issue resolution.
- Act as the HR escalation point for site leadership.
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, and employee relations issues.
- Ensure proper documentation, ID issuance, and record maintenance.
- Enforce discipline, attendance standards, and code of conduct.
HR MIS, Systems & Reporting- Maintain HR MIS for manpower, recruitment, attrition, and attendance.
- Track key metrics including:
- Headcount
- Vacancies
- Hiring timelines
- Attrition
- Manpower costs.
- Prepare structured reports for management review.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel is mandatory.
- Comfortable with HR systems, digital tools, and computer-based workflows.

Education- Graduate degree required
- MBA / PGDM in HR or related field preferred

Compensation- CTC: 6,00,000 to 10,00,000 per annum
- Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated capability.
