Responsibilities

This role is a hands-on, individual contributor position and will independently lead all HR functions during the company's scaling phase.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Drive end-to-end recruitment across functions (Tech & Non-Tech) using job portals, LinkedIn, and Referrals
  • Create JDs, manage sourcing pipelines, schedule interviews, and ensure smooth candidate experience
  • Build employer branding initiatives to attract top talent

Campus & Early Talent Hiring

  • Build and manage relationships with Engineering Colleges, Universities, and Training & Placement Cells
  • Coordinate campus drives, internship programs, and fresher hiring (in-office and remote roles)
  • Develop structured internship-to-full-time conversion pipelines

Onboarding & HR Operations

  • Manage seamless onboarding, induction, and documentation
  • Create & implement HR policies and processes from scratch
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, Shops & Establishment, etc.)

Performance Management

  • Design and implement performance management systems (KPI/OKRs) aligned with company goals
  • Track employee performance, facilitate reviews, and support managers in fair evaluations
  • Provide data-driven insights for promotions, increments, and career progression

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead initiatives for employee morale, recognition, and retention
  • Balance startup flexibility with professionalism and discipline
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, and productive work environment
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and mediation processes
  • Maintain workplace discipline while ensuring fairness and transparency
  • Own employer branding across LinkedIn, social media, and referral programs
  • Coordinate structured learning & development sessions, guest lectures, and upskilling initiatives

Compliance & Payroll

  • Ensure timely payroll processing with accurate attendance, leave, and deduction inputs
  • Manage statutory compliance and liaise with vendors/consultants where required
  • Prepare HR documents (offer letters, confirmation letters, exit letters)
  • Manage exit processes including notice period governance, full & final settlements, experience letters, and BGV responses

Leadership & HR Strategy

  • Act as a business partner to leadership on People, Process, and Profit balance
  • Anticipate HR challenges in a scaling startup and build proactive solutions
  • Provide reports and insights to management on headcount, attrition, and workforce planning
  • Drive HR analytics including hiring funnel metrics, attrition reports, attendance insights, and workforce planning dashboards
  • Lead HR automation initiatives and evaluate HRMS tools for scalability

Required Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3 to 6 years of full-time HR experience, preferably in a startup or a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, HR operations, payroll, and compliance
  • Experience implementing performance management frameworks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Hands-on with HRMS tools (Zoho, Keka, GreytHR, etc.) and MS Excel

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Prior experience in IT/Tech recruitment
  • Knowledge of labour laws, audits, and HR compliance
  • Exposure to designing HR policies and employee handbooks
  • Ability to handle both strategic and operational HR responsibilities independently
