We need a hands-on HR Manager with aviation background, strong in contracts and compliance, who can independently manage HR for a 6070 staff DGCA-approved flight academy.
This is a hands-on Aviation Operational HR role for an aviation training organisation. The person will personally handle recruitment, contracts, compliance, and daily HR operations.
Location: Mumbai / Aurangabad (On-site).
Reports to: VP Training
ROLE PROFILE:
1. Recruitment & Staffing
End-to-end hiring for:
o Flight Instructors Engineers & Technicians Dispatchers Admin, security, drivers, housekeeping
Coordinate with CFI, CAMO, Safety for manpower needs.
Issue offer letters and manage joining formalities.
2. Contracts & Documentation
Draft and manage:
o Employment contracts Instructor agreements Consultant / Examiner contracts NDAs & confidentiality agreements
Manage:
o Bond agreements (instructors/engineers) Notice period clauses Contract renewals
3. HR Compliance & Payroll
Handle:
o Attendance & leave records Payroll coordination PF / ESIC / TDS coordination
Liaise with external CA / payroll vendor.
4. Aviation-Specific HR
Maintain records for:
o Instructor licences & validity Medical expiry tracking DGCA post-holder files
Support DGCA audits with:
o Staff files Appointment letters Qualification records
5. Employee Lifecycle
Onboarding & induction.
Probation reviews.
Exit & full-and-final.
Disciplinary actions if required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* 58 years HR experience
At least 23 years in aviation,
such as: Airline Airport operator
MRO
FTO / aviation academy
Aviation services company
Education
Graduate + HR Diploma / MBA (preferred)
MUST-HAVE SKILLS
Has worked in aviation environment
Has drafted real employment contracts
Knows labour law basics
Comfortable dealing with pilots & engineers
Not afraid of paperwork & compliance
Can work alone (single HR for 60 staff)
