Company Description

IIG South is seeking an experienced and passionate Merchandising Faculty to train students and industry professionals in Gems & Jewellery Merchandising. The role involves academic teaching, practical industry-oriented training, and participation in corporate training programs for jewellery retail and manufacturing organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom and practical sessions on Jewellery & Gem Merchandising
  • Train students on:
  • Jewellery product knowledge (Diamond, Gold, Coloured Stones)
  • Merchandising strategies for retail & export markets
  • Pricing, costing, margins & inventory planning
  • Trend analysis and consumer buying behaviour
  • Visual merchandising & product presentation
  • Prepare lesson plans, presentations, case studies, and assessments
  • Conduct corporate training programs for jewellery brands and retail chains
  • Support curriculum development and syllabus enhancement
  • Mentor students for careers in jewellery retail, merchandising & exports
  • Stay updated with market trends, consumer preferences, and industry practices

Required Qualification:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in:

Jewellery Design / Merchandising / Fashion / Management

OR relevant qualification with strong industry experience

  • Certification in Gems & Jewellery merchandising is an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in:

Jewellery merchandising

Jewellery retail / export / buying office

Training or academic teaching (preferred)

  • Exposure to corporate or retail brand training will be highly valued

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong subject knowledge in jewellery merchandising
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain concepts with real-world industry examples
  • Comfortable handling students and working professionals
  • Willingness to travel for corporate training assignments
  • Knowledge of Indian and international jewellery markets

Languages Preferred:

English (mandatory)

South Indian languages (Kannada / Tamil / Telugu / Malayalam) – added advantage
