Role Purpose
The Head of PMO is responsible for establishing, mobilising, and leading a high-performing Project Management Office that drives delivery excellence, financial accuracy, and operational discipline across the organisation.
This role has end-to-end accountability for PMO mobilisation, tooling, governance, reporting, and performance, and ensures that project data, forecasts, and delivery outcomes are trusted, consistent, and commercially sound.
PMO Mobilisation & Governance
• Lead the mobilisation of a new PMO, defining structure, roles, standards, and ways of working.
• Design and embed the PMO operating model, delivery governance, and control mechanisms.
• Ensure consistent application of project management methodologies across all projects.
• Establish clear accountability frameworks for scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality.
Project Manager Accountability
• Hold Project Managers accountable for delivery execution, governance compliance, and data quality.
• Set clear expectations for planning discipline, reporting accuracy, and risk management.
• Address underperformance through coaching, escalation, and corrective action.
Timesheeting, Forecasting & Financial Control
• Accountable for the quality and accuracy of data in Harvest and Forecast.
• Ensure timely, accurate timesheet submission and forecast integrity.
• Work with Finance to support accurate invoicing and margin control.
RAID & Change Control
• Own and enforce RAID management across all projects.
• Ensure risks and issues are actively managed and escalated.
• Govern change control and commercial approval processes.
Process Mobilisation & Control
• Lead project mobilisation to ensure correct setup from initiation.
• Monitor adherence to PMO processes and intervene where necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement through delivery insight.
Power BI Reporting (Critical Requirement)
• Own PMO reporting using Power BI.
• Design and maintain dashboards covering utilisation, chargeability, capacity, forecast vs actuals, and ETVC metrics.
• Provide insight-driven reporting to senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
• Proven experience mobilising a PMO from scratch.
• Strong hands-on Power BI experience.
• Strong delivery finance, forecasting, and governance capability.
Desirable:
• Experience in technology or consultancy environments.
• Exposure to earned value or advanced delivery metrics.
