The role is responsible for providing legal oversight across business operations, managing litigation, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting strategic transactions. Role & Responsibilities
Legal Strategy & Governance
- Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Provide executive leadership with legal guidance on critical business decisions.
- Establish governance frameworks, policies, and controls.
- Establish Risk profile
Contracts & Commercial Advisory
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and business agreements, JV Agreements, land related, MoUs, vendor contracts, SHA, and strategic partnerships (Domestic & International).
- Support procurement, project, and business development teams in contract structuring.
- Ensure standardization and risk mitigation in commercial documentation.
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Monitor changes in legislation and assess business impact.
- Drive internal compliance audits and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with counsels, attorneys, regulators and authorities
Qualification and Skills Required
- LLB/LLM from a recognized institution
- 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate / law firms legal roles
- Strong expertise in commercial law & land related matters, knowledge of corporate governance, and litigation management
- Experience in infrastructure/energy/renewables/EPC sectors preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- High integrity and sound judgement
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-complexity matters
