Purpose
The purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership for the company ensuring that the people strategy aligns with and supports the overall business objectives. A strategic partner who will lead and oversee the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development, compensation, transformation and compliance).
Reporting to the UK Director of People, the position serves as a key member of the local senior leadership team, shaping culture, aligning workforce strategies with business goals, and enabling long-term organisational success.
Responsibilities
HR Leadership
- ● Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies ensuring they are aligned with the overall
- ● business objectives.
- ● Act as a key member of the local leadership team, providing HR insights and strategic
- advice on
- ● organisational design, talent management, and workforce planning.
- ● Lead the HR team, ensuring effective implementation of global HR and compliance
- policies while accommodating the specific requirements of local operations.
- ● Partner with the leadership team to support business transformation, growth, and
- provide
- ● strategic guidance to senior leadership on human capital agenda.
- Talent, Culture & Organisation Development
- ● Strategize, envision and drive initiatives around talent acquisition, skill development, performance and retention.
- ● Design and oversee comprehensive end-to-end talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent for roles in; sales, editorial, marketing, finance, IT etc.
- ● Design and implement tailored talent development programs, including specialized training, leadership development, and career progression opportunities to meet the distinct needs of various businesses.
- ● Build and maintain a high-performance work culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and employee well-being.
- ● Implement employee engagement programs and act on feedback from surveys and performance reviews.
- Culture Integration & Change Management
- ● Champion the company values and culture, promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration across diverse business lines.
- ● Lead culture and change management initiatives in line with the company's Global requirements, facilitating smooth transitions and ensuring stakeholder buy-in during organizational changes.
Compensation & Benefits
Oversee the annual salary review process, performance appraisal systems, and industry-specific incentive programs.
HR Operations
- ● Oversee HR operations, including payroll, HRIS, and employee data management, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- ● Utilize HR analytics to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for optimizing HR strategies, considering the unique requirements of each industry sector.
- ● Develop and deploy a strong analytics framework for faster decision making on people matters.
- Employee Relations and Compliance
- ● Ensure compliance with Global policies. Adherence with local country labour laws and employment regulations, keeping abreast of changes and advising the business on legal requirements across diverse industries.
- ● Manage HR legal and ethical standards, complex employee relations issues, including conflict
- ● resolution and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and fairness across all business units.
- Qualification and Experience
- ● Masters degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- ● Min. 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 10 years in a senior HR
- leadership role in India. Experience within publishing or creative industries would be
- advantageous.
- ● In-depth knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices across multiple sectors.
- ● Proven experience in strategic HR planning, talent management, and employee relations
- ● Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across
- diverse business units. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
