About the Role:
The incumbent is responsible for acquiring and growing the group's (RT) Agri-inputs, seeds, Agri equipment business for Middle East and Africa in line with RT strategy. The incumbent will be working with the MD directly to search and identify potential partners and responsible for overall P&L the complete business of Agri division. The Head will provide leadership, develop a strategy roadmap, and successful execution of the organization s business plan as per the vision and mission.
What You Will Do: (roles & responsibilities)
- Identify, pitch, acquire & develop new businesses for RT-AGRO Sales & Distribution for Middle East and Africa.
- Overall business performance in terms of Sales (value + volume + margin) for all channels, profits and ROCE.
- Work with the partners and the team in developing strategies and tactics for profitable revenue growth within the various channels, and ensure that sales volumes are achieved according to the principals sales plan.
- Guide the team in designing of business development initiatives to sell products and identify viable business opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Guide the team in identifying and developing business-building opportunities with specific customers / channels through the teams and align initiatives across categories.
- Ensure highest standards of customer service to deliver category objectives
- Ensure full integration of customer plans with brand innovation & lead joint business plan
- Keeping close contact with key customers and stakeholders
- Direct the teams to evaluate category, channel, and customer performance, and to continuously track and monitor channel margins and customer profitability.
- Guide the team in developing and implementing (after the alignment with the partners) the Long and Mid Term Business Strategies and Annual Budget Plan.
- Maintain awareness of the external competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards and keep abreast in exploring new business opportunities (markets, products, services)
- Perform periodical business reviews against set and agreed targets.
- Ensure full compliance with the Law and Code of Conduct.
Education and skills required:
- Minimum graduate in Agriculture, preferable an MBA from a recognized university
- Proficiency in English and French is mandatory
- Total work experience of 15 years or more in Agri-inputs distribution companies with proven track record in building and managing the large business in the targeted countries.
- Overall exposure to B2C and B2B business and knowledge of upper and lower trade in Anglo, Franco and Lusophone African countries
- Prior experience of working in multi-cultural environment and family owned businesses
- Experience of managing the full value chain in business.
- Adept in creating, liaising and maintaining relationships with country level regulatory and governmental organizations.
- Knowledge of Sales and Distribution in GCC, Middle East and Africa
- Agri-inputs value chain BD experience
