Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager – Service Sales, Automation, Digital & Turbomachinery to drive service sales, consulting-led engagements, and lifecycle services growth across greenfield and brownfield opportunities.

This role requires deep expertise in turbomachinery controls combined with strong automation, digital, and lifecycle services experience. The candidate will act as a technical authority for turbomachinery systems, while also driving broader value-added service sales opportunities across automation and digital solutions.

The role combines technical consulting, solution architecture, and service sales leadership to drive consulting-led service business growth across Oil & Gas, LNG, Refining, Petrochemicals, Power, and Industrial sectors.

  • Identify service opportunities across greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Develop consulting-led service sales pipeline

  • Collaborate with sales and account teams to drive service revenue
  • Develop recurring services revenue opportunities
  • Drive value-added services including digital and performance optimization
  • Consulting & Client Advisory
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on turbomachinery control philosophies, system upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct technical assessments, site audits, gap analyses, and risk evaluations of existing control systems.
  • Develop recommendations and present them to senior customer stakeholders, including engineering leadership and operations management.
  • Support clients in root-cause analysis of trips, surge events, instability issues, and reliability challenges.
  • Provide consulting across automation, digital, and lifecycle services opportunities
  • Support greenfield and brownfield consulting engagements
  • Identify value-added services opportunities across installed base
  • Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture
  • Serve as the technical lead for consulting engagements involving gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and expanders.
  • Define and review control strategies, logic architecture, anti surge and performance control designs, and protection schemes.
  • Provide multi OEM guidance (GE, BHEL, Skoda, ABB, Siemens, MAN, Baker Hughes, Elliott, Woodward, CCC, MHI, Atlas Copco, Burkhardt and including various Hydro Turbine OEMs like Andriz, Voith, Toshiba, BFL, Floval etc ).
  • Ensure solutions align with industry standards (API 612/617/670/671, IEC 61508, 61511 and various other standards for Control systems).
  • Provide technical leadership across automation, digital, and lifecycle solutions
  • Support multi-OEM automation and control system consulting
  • Support modernization and migration strategy development
  • Project Delivery & Technical Execution Skills
  • Lead engineering efforts for feasibility studies, modernization projects, system migrations, and control system upgrades.
  • Participate (or) overseeing and reviewing FAT/SAT activities, commissioning support, and remote troubleshooting (on demand basis) for Critical projects
  • Guide in Preparing high quality engineering deliverables such as:
  • Control narratives
  • Logic diagrams
  • Cause & Effect matrix
  • Performance evaluation reports
  • Trip investigations and technical recommendations
  • Provide technical oversight for automation, digital, and lifecycle service projects
  • Support complex greenfield and brownfield project execution
  • Provide technical advisory for DCS, PLC, SCADA, and safety system projects
  • Provide technical leadership for multi-OEM automation and turbomachinery projects
  • Support strategic projects requiring high-level technical expertise
  • Performance Optimization & Reliability Improvement
  • Capability to analyze historical and live plant data and to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, stability enhancement, and operational flexibility.
  • Recommend advanced control schemes, tuning improvements, and logic modifications.
  • Support digital initiatives including data analytics, predictive maintenance, and model based control enhancements including Performance analysis of Design Vs Actuals.
  • Support operational efficiency and asset lifecycle optimization initiatives
  • Identify digital and automation-based improvement opportunities
  • Business Development & Thought Leadership
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, estimation, and technical content for consulting engagements.
  • Participate in client presentations, workshops, and pre sales technical discussions.
  • Develop white papers, training materials, and best-practice guidelines for turbomachinery controls.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support capability-building within the consulting team.
  • Drive techno-commercial service sales opportunities
  • Support strategic pursuits and large opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Control & Automation Systems Engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years experience in turbomachinery controls, including engineering, commissioning, troubleshooting, Project Management, PreSales or Business development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with condition monitoring platforms (Bently Nevada, VibroMeter).
  • Knowledge of digital tools: MATLAB/Simulink, Python analytics, or model-based design.
  • Exposure to refinery, LNG, petrochemical, or power plant operations.

  • Strong client presence and ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Consulting mindset: structured thinking, clarity in recommendations, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver under tight timelines.
  • Willingness to travel for client assignments worldwide.
