Role Summary
The General Manager – Procurement will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, compliance, and timely availability of materials and services. The role demands strategic sourcing expertise, strong vendor management, and alignment with organizational growth and project execution goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, value engineering, and sourcing efficiencies.
- Establish long-term vendor partnerships to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable commercial and technical terms.
- Ensure vendor performance monitoring, audits, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee procurement planning based on production and project requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, and services.
- Implement best practices in procurement processes, systems, and compliance.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Manage procurement budgets and material cost structures.
- Analyze market trends, price forecasts, and supply risks.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and timelines.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Finance, and Project teams.
- Support project timelines by ensuring material availability and logistics alignment.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
- Establish transparent procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
- Foster a performance-driven and accountable work culture.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Business Administration
- Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
- Professional certifications in procurement/supply chain (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 20 years of experience in procurement/supply chain
- Proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, or EPC industry preferred
- Prior experience in a leadership role managing large procurement operations
