Role Overview
The General Manager is responsible for overall performance across all departments including Rooms, Food Beverage, Sales, Finance, HR, and Engineering.
This role demands an exceptional hotelier who can lead teams, deliver outstanding guest experiences, and drive sustained profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and direction to all department heads, ensuring alignment with the hotel's strategic goals.
Drive overall hotel performance including occupancy, RevPAR, GOP, guest satisfaction scores(GSS/NPS), and employee engagement metrics. Develop and manage the annual operating budget, capital expenditure plans, and financial forecasts.
Foster a culture of service excellence and ensure consistent delivery of the brand promise.
Oversee all sales, marketing, and revenue management strategies to maximize top-line revenue.
Maintain full compliance with statutory, legal, and brand standards including health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Build and sustain relationships with key corporate accounts, VVIP guests, government bodies, and local stakeholders.
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent; oversee succession planning and HR policies.
Represent the hotel in ownership meetings, management reviews, and community forums. Lead crisis management, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning.
Qualifications Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
12-18+ years of progressive hotel operations experience, with 35 years as a GM or EAM.
Proven PL ownership and financial acumen with strong analytical capabilities.
Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience With Luxury, Upper-upscale, Or Branded Hotel Environments Preferred.
Fluency in hospitality technology platforms including Opera PMS, Micros, and BI tools.
