Job Description

Location: Remote, based out of Bangalore, Karnataka

Language Requirement: English. Knowledge of Kannada and other regional language is a bonus

Reports to: Collective/Board

Date of Joining: July 2026

About us:

We are a small, team-led organisation, where people are expected to take ownership, collaborate closely, and contribute beyond their immediate function. This role reports directly to the board and involves working in a setting that values initiative, accountability, problem-solving, and thoughtful communication. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a hands-on environment and can balance independent execution with strong team collaboration.

About the Role:

We are looking for someone who can help us think strategically about fundraising, build strong donor and partner relationships, and spot opportunities across India and globally. In our team-led structure, this role is not just about raising funds independently, but about working alongside other leads to shape fundraising priorities, strengthen our fundraising culture, and help the team stay aligned with what the ecosystem is looking for. You will have the autonomy to develop and execute fundraising strategies, making decisions directly in collaboration with the team.

Your core responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate a strong understanding of institutional funding and grants management in close alignment with the organisation's priorities and team-led way of working.
  2. Lead our fundraising strategy, planning, pipeline development, and progress toward annual and long-term targets, in coordination with the wider team.
  3. Support other Team Leads in CSR fundraising efforts and contribute to joint funding opportunities where relevant.
  4. Build and maintain thoughtful relationships with individual donors, foundations, philanthropic institutions, multilateral agencies, and global networks.
  5. Shape grant proposals, concept notes, pitch decks, and other key funding materials in collaboration with the team.
  6. Represent the organisation in donor conversations, presentations, convenings, policy spaces, and other strategic forums, ensuring consistency with collective organisation priorities.
  7. Act as an internal champion for fundraising by helping the wider team understand, contribute to, and strengthen fundraising efforts.
  8. Work closely with program and communications teams to align fundraising with organisational priorities and ensure shared ownership of campaigns and materials.
  9. Help build long-term donor relationships through thoughtful stewardship, engagement, and renewal, with input from relevant team members where needed.
  10. Track fundraising budget and KPI progress, and share regular updates with the team and the board in a transparent, collaborative manner.

Our team needs you to have:

  1. 4–6 years of experience in partnerships, fundraising, or strategic alliances.
  2. Experience in grant writing for institutional funders, or philanthropic foundations.
  3. Prior experience in women's health, education, or social impact is highly desirable.
  4. Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
  5. Excellent written, verbal communication and research abilities.
  6. Degree in Business, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
  7. Fluency in English and Hindi. Knowledge of Kannada is a bonus
  8. Bangalore-based or willing to work from Bangalore.

We would really appreciate if you have:

  1. Understanding of rural health and behaviour change programs
  2. Experience managing budgets and financial reporting
  3. Familiarity with national health policies in India and global women's and adolescent health ecosystem

What we have for you:

  1. A flexible remote working culture built on respect, empathy, trust, and shared accountability.
  2. A team-led environment where responsibility is distributed, voices are valued, and decisions are shaped collaboratively.
  3. Direct exposure to organisational strategy, with opportunities to work closely with the board and cross-functional teams.
  4. Real space to grow your leadership journey through ownership, learning, and contribution beyond a single function.
  5. Access to a strong social development network, with local and global connections to sector experts.
  6. A competitive salary range of INR 9,00,000 to 12,00,000, depending on experience.

Success of this role depends on close collaboration across teams rather than working in isolation. This role will suit someone who values transparency, shared decision-making, direct access to leadership, and the chance to shape work in a small, flat organisation.
