Our client, a leading global FMCG organization, is seeking a Formulation Scientist Consultant to support formulation development and laboratory-based research for home care and cosmetic products (skincare and haircare). The consultant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop formulation insights, conduct lab-scale experiments, and support the translation of formulations from bench scale to pilot scale, ensuring product performance, stability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support formulation development for home care and cosmetic products, including skincare and haircare applications.
- Perform lab-scale formulation activities such as batch making, stability testing, and performance evaluation.
- Handle basic laboratory instruments and conduct routine lab testing for cleaning efficiency, surfactancy, foam, and product performance.
- Assist in developing and refining formulation rules and technical insights to improve product quality and robustness.
- Support scale-up activities by providing lab data and technical inputs for pilot plant trials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, regulatory, quality, and external suppliers to support new product development.
- Maintain proper lab practices, documentation, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Skills Required
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience in lab-scale formulation for cosmetic products (skincare & haircare), including batch making, testing, and performance evaluation.
- Proficient in laboratory practices, basic instrument handling, and routine lab testing.
- Understanding of formulation scale-up and pilot plant support.
- Ability to interpret scientific literature and technical data to support formulation decisions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
