Founding Engineer AI-Powered Sales Intelligence Platform

• Australia LOCATION: Remote (India) WORKING HOURS: Start 8:00 AM IST - 3-4 hours daily overlap with Sydney/Australia time REPORTING TO: Founder/CEO directly PATH: Founding Engineer potential CTO/Co-founder as the company scales About the Company Our client is building an AI-powered second brain for sales and go-to-market teams. The product captures deep context around prospects, accounts, and relationships that traditional CRMs can't handle - mapping stakeholder motivations, organisational dynamics, and deal timelines into a shared intelligence layer that helps salespeople and companies understand why they win, why they lose, and how to get to outcomes faster. Founded by a serial entrepreneur based in Sydney who previously built and exited a tech company in Southeast Asia (Singapore), the product is nearly ready for its first customers and is already generating strong interest, including conversations where prospects want to replace existing AI tools with what's been built. This is a zero-to-one, high-ownership opportunity. The Role You'll be the first engineering hire - working directly with the founder to clean up, harden, and ship the existing platform to early customers, then build new features as the product evolves. The founder is technical (has been rebuilding the platform himself) and will work closely with you, but needs someone who can think independently, challenge decisions, and be obsessed with the problem space - not just execute tickets. This is not a corporate role. There are no SOPs, no planning cycles, and no fluff. You'll look at the code, start building straight away, and think about the problem with the founder as a genuine partner. What You'll Work On Clean up and improve the existing platform ahead of first customer deployments Build and own the context layer - the core architectural challenge: capturing rich, structured prospect and account intelligence beyond what a CRM stores Design and implement AI agent integrations - model routing, user-facing APIs, context window management Build new product features as the roadmap evolves - including integrations with GTM tools (CRM, email, calendar, notes) Help shape the technical architecture and stack decisions as the product scales Tech Stack Frontend: Next.js Hosting: Vercel Database: Neon (PostgreSQL) - expected to migrate to AWS over time AI: Heavy AI coding environment model APIs, user-facing AI, agent orchestration Stack is evolving - flexibility and ability to learn fast matters more than exact stack match What We're Looking For 3-8 years of full stack engineering experience - both profiles considered if the mindset is right Prior experience at an early-stage startup - ideally someone who has been a founding engineer or co-founder, or has tried to build something themselves (even if it didn't succeed) Deep interest in AI - understands how the world is moving, has opinions on AI tools, agents, context management, and where the gaps are. Product mindset - thinks about the problem, not just the ticket brings ideas to the table, not just code Strong communication - will work directly with the founder and eventually with enterprise clients must be able to articulate thinking clearly Builder mentality - comfortable with ambiguity, happy to tinker, not intimidated by being on the edge of technology Experience with context layer challenges, large data, or forward-deployed engineering is a strong plus Exposure to enterprise sales or GTM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) is a bonus - understanding the problem space from a user perspective What We're NOT Looking For Engineers from large corporate environments who plan, but don't build Candidates who present a resume but have no opinion on where technology is going Anyone who needs detailed instructions - this is a role for someone who can figure things out Interview Process
