Job Description

Position Purpose

You will be the strategic bridge between the Finance department and the Business units (Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product). Your goal is to move the company toward profitable growth by managing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Optimizing Contribution Margin (CM), and ensuring cash-flow efficiency.

Key Responsibilites:

A. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • AOP & Forecasting: Lead the Annual Operating Plan and monthly rolling forecasts. You will coordinate with department heads to set realisƟc but ambiƟous revenue and cost targets.
  • Variance Analysis: Track Actuals vs. Budgets. You won't just report the what, but explain the why(e.g., Why did the marketing CAC spike in Week 3).
  • Board & Investor Reporting: Prepare high-quality monthly MIS dockets and board presentations. You will be responsible for tracking Startup North Star metrics like Burn Rate, Runway, and LTV:CAC ratio.

B. Business Finance & Decision Support

  • Unit Economics (D2C Focus): Deep dive into SKU-level profitability. Analyze the Contribution Margin 1, 2, and 3 tier accounting for marketing, logistics, and packaging.
  • Marketing Effectiveness: Partner with the Performance Marketing team to audit ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) across channels (Amazon, Meta, Google).
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Work with the ops team to reduce RTO (Return to Origin) costs and optimize warehousing/quick commerce (Blinkit/Zepto/Instamart) margins.

C. Strategic Projects

  • New Product Development (NPD): Create financial feasibility models for new categories (e.g., moving from Juices to Gummies).
  • Quick Commerce Strategy: Analyse the profitability of 10-minute delivery channels vs. website orders.

Requirements: (The Ideal Candidate)

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA from a Tier-1 institute (IIM/ISB).
  • Experience: 3–6 years of experience. At least 2 years in a startup, D2C brand, or FMCG company is highly preferred.
  • Technical Stack: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets: (Must be a Power User).
  • SQL: Essential for pulling data directly from internal BI tools.
  • Visualization: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • ERP: Familiarity with Zoho Books, SAP, or NetSuite.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Forecasting Accuracy: Target vs. Actual variance should be <5%.
  • Margin Improvement: Identify and execute cost-saving levers to improve CM2 by 2–3%.
  • Reporting Timelines: Completion of monthly MIS by the 5th of every month.
