Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to lead the finance function for one of our key clients in India. The role is responsible for end-to-end financial management, including reporting, compliance, audits, internal controls, treasury, and business partnering.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on experience in manufacturing and multi-plant environments, and the ability to partner with business leaders to drive profitable growth for our client.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning, Analysis & Business Partnering
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Drive financial planning and analysis including variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and MIS reporting.
- Partner with business leaders and plant heads on performance reviews and strategic decisions.
- Build financial models for capex, new projects, product launches, and tenders.
- Provide commercial insights and challenge assumptions to improve profitability.
2. Financial Reporting (India & Global)
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Ind AS / IFRS).
- Ensure accurate and timely group reporting and consolidation packs.
- Align with global finance teams on reporting and accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and disclosures.
3. Transfer Pricing & Inter-Company Transactions
- Manage inter-company accounting, reconciliations, and settlements.
- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations (Form 3CEB, Master File, CbCR).
- Coordinate with consultants on transfer pricing documentation and audits.
4. Audit Management
- Lead all audits:
- Statutory Audit
- Group / Consolidation Audit
- Tax & Transfer Pricing Audit
- GST Audit (GSTR-9 / 9C)
- Internal & Cost Audit
- Act as a single point of contact for auditors and ensure timely closure of observations.
5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Design and strengthen internal financial controls and standard operating procedures.
- Drive automation and process efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure strong governance and data integrity.
6. Plant Accounting, Costing & Operations Finance
- Oversee accounting across multiple manufacturing plants.
- Drive product costing, standard costing, and yield analysis.
- Monitor production variances, inventory, and material consumption.
- Partner with plant teams on cost optimisation.
7. Tender Business & Commercial Finance
- Support pricing, costing, and financial evaluation of tenders.
- Assess commercial risks, payment terms, and bank guarantees.
- Ensure financially viable bids in collaboration with sales teams.
8. Working Capital, Treasury & Trade Finance
- Manage receivables, payables, and inventory efficiently.
- Oversee cash flow planning and fund management.
- Handle instruments such as LCs, bank guarantees, buyer's credit, and bill discounting.
- Optimise cost of funds and ensure liquidity.
9. Credit Risk & AR/AP Management
- Define and monitor credit policies and limits.
- Manage collections, ageing, disputes, and provisioning.
- Optimise vendor payments and working capital cycles.
- Drive improvements in DSO and DPO.
10. Banking & Fund Raising
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Support debt, equity, and structured financing initiatives.
11. Systems, SAP & IT
- Act as a key user for SAP (FI/CO) and other ERP systems.
- Drive system improvements and ensure data integrity.
- Leverage BI tools for reporting and analytics.
Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- CA.
- 10–15 years of experience with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Manufacturing / multi-plant / MNC experience preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, GST, Income Tax, FEMA, and Transfer Pricing.
- Hands-on SAP (FI/CO) experience.
- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capability.
