Finance Controller 

 

Role summary

 

The Financial Controller will lead the organization's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role is responsible for statutory compliance, budgeting, financial planning, internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong leadership capabilities, deep technical expertise in accounting and taxation, and prior exposure to structured audit or consulting environments.

 

Key responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Prepare, review, and publish accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure quality control, accuracy, and completeness of all financial transactions and reports.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:

  • Coordinate and lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Provide financial analysis, business insights, and decision support to the CFO and leadership team.

Cash Flow, Controls & Governance:

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, SOPs, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strengthen financial governance, risk management, and compliance practices.

Compliance, Audit & Regulatory:

  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Act as a reviewer for financial statements, audit schedules, and statutory filings.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Manage team structure, performance, and capability building.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 5–10 years of post-qualification experience (articleship excluded)
  • CA qualified in not more than three attempts
  • Prior experience as Financial Controller / Senior Manager / Reviewer
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Ind-AS and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally)

 

Location, working & reporting

 

  • Based in Thane, with weekly travel to our office in Khar
  • Onsite job, with alternate Saturdays working
  • Reports to CFO
