Position: Financial Controller

Reporting to: CFO / Head – Finance and Accounts

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective business partnering. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in accounting, budgeting, taxation, audit management, and internal controls, along with the ability to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations

• Oversee general accounting, reconciliations, and period-end closing processes.
• Ensuring booking & automation in receivable/payable functions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP).

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Product Costing & RFQ/Pricing support for ongoing & new businesses.
• Develop & publish Divisional P&L.
• Cost control & optimisation projects
• Develop MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
• Support strategic planning and business decision-making through financial insights.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Monitor adherence to company policies and financial procedures.

Taxation & Regulatory Matters

• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with tax advisors and authorities on assessments and audits.
• Ensure timely filing of all statutory returns.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and business leaders.

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with senior management, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Support due diligence exercises, business reviews, and special projects as required.

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, MIS, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of taxation and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Leadership and people management capabilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CMA will be added advantage) with 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or multi-location businesses preferred.
• Exposure to audits, taxation and process improvement initiatives.
• Experience in handling a team and interacting with senior management.
