Job Title: Head – Finance (Controllership)

Location: Mumbai (5 Days WFO)

Experience: 8–10 years post qualification

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) Reporting To: CFO

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Head – Finance (Controllership) to lead the end-to-end finance function with complete ownership of financial reporting, accounting, compliance, taxation, audits, treasury oversight, and internal controls. The role requires a strong technical accounting background, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to build robust financial processes while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Controllership

Lead end-to-end accounting and financial controllership for the organization.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.

Drive preparation of financial statements in compliance with Ind AS / IFRS and Companies Act requirements.

Own General Ledger (GL), balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and financial governance.

Review accounting policies and ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards.

Financial Reporting & MIS

Lead preparation of management reports, board decks, and business performance reports.

Deliver insightful MIS, variance analysis, and financial dashboards for leadership.

Support strategic decision-making through meaningful financial analysis.

Ensure timely submission of statutory and group reporting requirements.

Compliance & Taxation

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC, FEMA, and Companies Act.

Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors for assessments and filings.

Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary process updates.

Audit & Internal Controls

Lead statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits.

Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.

Develop SOPs and drive process standardization and automation.

Treasury & Working Capital

Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and banking relationships.

Monitor working capital, receivables, payables, and fund utilization.

Support treasury operations and financing activities.

Business Partnering

Partner with business leaders to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Provide financial insights on pricing, investments, and strategic initiatives.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.

Drive capability building and establish a high-performance finance function.

Desired Candidate Profile

Chartered Accountant with 8–10 years of post-qualification experience.

Strong experience in end-to-end financial controllership.

Hands-on experience in financial reporting, accounting, audits, taxation, compliance, and treasury.

Strong knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and financial controls.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.

Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

• Prior experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, or D2C organizations will be preferred.
