- As a Financial Control Professional in our Finance team, you will be responsible for defining, refining, and delivering on the firm's financial goals.
- The role focuses on analyzing the general ledger, operating systems, and infrastructure controls to ensure accurate financial reporting across the investment bank's lifecycle.
- This financial data supports analysts, management, investors, and regulators in making informed decisions.
- Core responsibilities are aligned with FAIR (Financial Analysis, Infrastructure & Reporting) and include financial analysis, reporting, balance sheet substantiation, GL reconciliation, inter-entity governance, manual entries, and month-end close.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with line of business controllers, middle office, and operations to validate monthly profit and loss
- Manage monthly consolidation of the JPMorgan Chase income statement and balance sheet
- Develop and maintain various financial reports and schedules
- Handle post-closing entries and perform consolidation adjustments
- Execute control procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results
- Contribute to the production of the monthly financial Flash Report
- Respond to ad-hoc financial information requests from stakeholders across the firm
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and desktop applications
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Basic understanding of investment banking products
- Comfort in interacting with business and risk partners; ability to build relationships
- Ability to challenge processes to identify and resolve control issues
- Strong grasp of business requirements and ability to influence outcomes
- Aptitude for quickly understanding complex systems and their interdependencies
- Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulatory frameworks
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- CPA license is beneficial (required for some FAIR roles but not mandatory for all)
