Role Overview:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the fund's financial operations, reporting, compliance, fundraising support, and transactional execution. The role will work closely with senior leadership, investment teams, investors, banks, and external advisors to ensure financial discipline, scalability, and efficient execution across fund and portfolio activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong expertise in Finance & Accounting and Fund Accounting.
- Exposure to Fundraising and Investor Relations in a VC/PE or investment management setup.
- Experience supporting at least one complete fundraising cycle.
- Working knowledge of investment transactions, valuations, and due diligence processes.
Experience:
- Minimum 815 years of relevant experience, preferably within VC, PE, asset management, investment banking, or financial services.
- Prior experience in managing fund operations and transactional support is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage end-to-end finance and accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting, MIS, financial reporting, and audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial delivery in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies through process improvements and automation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
Fund Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee fund accounting, capital calls, distributions, NAV calculations, and expense allocations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements applicable to VC/PE funds.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, fund administrators, and legal advisors.
Fundraising & Investor Relations Support
- Support fundraising activities, including execution of at least one full fundraising cycle.
- Assist in managing Investor Relations, including preparation of LP reports, performance updates, and investor communications.
- Support preparation of pitch decks, data rooms, and responses to investor due diligence queries.
Transactions, Investments & M&A Support
- Support evaluation and execution of investments, M&A, and exit transactions.
- Assist in valuation analysis, financial modeling, and return analysis.
- Coordinate financial due diligence and work with external advisors.
- Support negotiation and review of transaction documentation including SPAs, SHAs, and related agreements.
- Assist with deal structuring, tax considerations, and transaction execution.
Business Scaling & Strategic Support
- Partner with leadership to support scaling of the fund and portfolio companies.
- Track portfolio performance and provide financial insights to the investment team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to support growth initiatives.
Banking & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for operational and financing requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across functions to ensure smooth financial operations and deal execution.
Systems, Transformation & Global Coordination
- Support finance transformation initiatives including system implementations and process standardization.
- Coordinate with project teams at overseas branches for system testing, data validation, and rollouts.
- Assist in change management and communication related to finance initiatives.
Education & Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory or
- MBA from a top-tier institution with experience in high-quality financial or investment firms.
