The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization. You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and maintain the R&D department's annual operating budgets. Prepare financial forecasts based on projected R&D activities and evaluate their financial impact.
- Medium Term Planning- Work with the CSO and other GLs and draw up the medium term cost planning for R&D related activities. Work on ensuring that the overall R&D expenditure is in line with the medium-term R&D expenditure framework and strategic on complex generics investments
- Reporting and variance analysis: Prepare regular financial reports and present them to stakeholders, including management and R&D teams. Perform variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted figures. Provide insights and recommendations for corrective actions
- Cost control and optimization: Monitor and control R&D project costs to ensure they align with budgeted targets. Collaborate with group leaders to identify opportunities for cost reduction or process optimization while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Business performance assessment: Evaluate the financial performance of R&D initiatives and compare actual results against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks. Assess the financial impact of R&D projects on the overall business strategy and recommend adjustments if necessary.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams: Collaborate closely with R&D teams, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights. Coordinate with other FP&A teams to align on financial planning and reporting methodologies.
- Process improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial planning and analysis processes within the R&D department. Streamline reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Team Building Building a sustainable team in R&D finance and ensuring training and growth of such team and also compliance on the accounting activities
Qualifications
- CA with 7 to 10 years exp. In Pharma/ Healthcare sector.
