Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor Associate Managers and indirectly manage a large team of finance professionals.
  • Drive high employee engagement, career development, and training initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee Project & General Accounting, GL Reconciliation & Reporting for APAC Controllership.
  • Deliver on KPIs and maintain transparency on balance sheet accounts, driving closure of open items with clear action plans.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Own SOX controls and ensure compliance in the operating environment.
  • Liaise with Internal Audit, External Audit, and SOX teams to support timely completion of controls testing and audits.
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans for audit observations and ensure closure of open issues.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives through process improvements and automation.
  • Ensure proper tools and systems are in place to support team performance and process integrity.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with other Finance teams in Controllership, Business Finance, Supply Chain & Order-to-Cash to ensure alignment and support strategic objectives.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in commerce. Professional qualification like Chartered Accountancy (CA), ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 8+ years in accounting/finance, with strong controllership and R2R expertise. Experience in Project Accounting / Contract Accounting preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of leadership experience, including 2+ years as a second-line manager leading Associate Managers / Team Leads / Supervisors leading functional teams.
  • Experience in Shared Services or Global Finance Operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit processes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/US GAAP).
  • Strong leadership skills: coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills; proficiency in Power BI or similar dashboards.
  • Relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Well-versed in SAP or similar ERP systems.
