About the Position:

CEPT established the School of Building Science and Technology (SBST) in 1982 that focuses on issues concerning the construction & management of human habitats and cities. SBST has now been renamed as Faculty of Technology (FT). FT offers a five years honors undergraduate program in Civil engineering and multiple two-years Postgraduate programs in Construction Engineering & Management, Structural Engineering Design, and Building Energy Performance. CEPT University invites applications for the positions of Academic Associate and Assistant Professor, Faculty of Technology, CEPT University.

The positions are intended for individuals committed to pursuing an academic career, who possess teaching experience and whose creative work in academic study, research work, professional practice, or a combination thereof demonstrates strong potential for continued academic contribution.

The appointment of Academic Associate (Full-time) andAssistant Professor (Full-time or Adjunct - for candidates engaged in practice or with other commitments running parallel) is a position for a three- year period and can be extended further following a review process. The position is open to candidates from any location.

Positions are open in the following areas of teaching / research specialization:

• Construction Technology
• Construction Management
• Structural Engineering

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. All faculty members at CEPT University will be engaged in a combination of Teaching, Research and Institutional work.
2. To contribute meaningfully to teaching by maintaining high academic standards and adopting contemporary curricula and pedagogical practices.
3. To provide leadership in curriculum development through continuous improvement and innovation in the design, articulation and delivery of courses
4. To contribute to the collegial environment at the University and to further its mission in the pursuit of excellence.
5. To advance student learning and success in alignment with the learning outcomes outlined in the curriculum.
6. To encourage collaborative learning through cross-project and cross-batch engagement among students and faculty.
7. To participate actively in reviews, evaluations, and academic assessments, providing constructive and timely feedback at various scales.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for positions:

[A] For Academic Associate:A relevant Master's Degree with min. 3 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A Doctoral Degree in relevant discipline.

[B] For Assistant Professor:A relevant Master's Degree with min. 5 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A Doctoral Degree in relevant discipline.

Expertise Required:

1. Demonstrated excellence in academic study, professional practice, or research through their primary academic/professional endeavours in related disciplinary pursuits.
2. Ability to integrate innovative teaching and mentoring approaches within an evolving pedagogical framework.
3. Beyond technical proficiency, the capacity to cultivate in students a critical and reflective understanding of the engineering profession and its broader societal responsibilities.
4. Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
5. Area-wisetechnical skill sets required are:

[A] Technical skill sets required for Construction Technology

• On-site experience with knowledge of construction technology, construction processes, Engineering materials, Estimation and costing.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing, experimentation and systems engineering.

[B] Technical skill sets required for Construction Management

• On-site experience with knowledge of advanced construction practices and project management
• Knowledge of Project management tools and digitalization.

[C] Technical skill sets required for for Structural Engineering Design

• Knowledge of Structural Analysis, IS, and international standards for designing structures
• Knowledge of computational tools, Engineering materials, laboratory testing and experimentation.
• Work experience in designing structures is preferred.
