About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fabric Merchandiser with 2–3 years of experience in both knits and woven fabrics. The ideal candidate should have a strong textile background, good market knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with mills, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely sourcing and development of fabrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling complete knit fabric merchandising process from development to bulk
- Handling fabric development, sampling, and approvals
- Coordination with mills/suppliers for pricing, quality, lead time, and deliveries
- Follow-up on lab dips, strike-offs, bulk production, and testing
- Monitoring fabric quality parameters and ensuring compliance with buyer standards
- Negotiation with suppliers for cost optimization
- Maintaining fabric records, approvals, and documentation
- Coordination with production, planning, and design teams
- Ensuring on-time fabric availability to meet production timelines
Key Skills & Competencies
- Graduate/Diploma in Textile Technology or related field
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in fabric merchandising (Textile background preferred)
- Strong knowledge of knit & woven fabric construction, GSM, blends, dyeing & finishing
- Understanding of textile processes and fabric quality standards
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Vendor management and follow-up capability
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Basic knowledge of costing and fabric consumption
- Proficiency in MS Excel
