Description
Cloud Engineering supports the firm by delivering modern platform capabilities, observability services, and engineering enablement across distributed systems. The Platform Observability team provides telemetry foundations, reliability insights, and tooling that help product, platform and SRE teams operate services with confidence
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Design & Delivery
- Implement service instrumentation for metrics, logs, and traces following defined standards and patterns.
- Build dashboards, configure alerts, and develop basic queries to support troubleshooting and service monitoring.
- Assist with observability pipeline maintenance, data flow configuration, and environment onboarding activities.
- Automation & CI/CD
- Contribute to observabilityascode practices, including templates for alerts, dashboards, and collectors.
- Support integration of observability checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration & Continual Improvement
- Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to validate telemetry coverage and support incident investigations.
- Maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational guides for tooling and instrumentation.
- Participate in knowledgesharing, team ceremonies, and reliability improvement initiatives.

- Shift Responsibilities & Operational Support
- Work in rotational shifts as required.
- Participate in oncall rotations to respond to and resolve highseverity incidents in a timely manner.
The Person
- Solid understanding of monitoring fundamentals, telemetry concepts, and basic reliability indicators.
- Familiarity with one or more observability toolchains and open standards (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
- Some handson experience in scripting/automation (PowerShell/Bash/Python) and troubleshooting distributed systems signals.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelining skills using Azure DevOps/GitHub or equivalent tools
- Experience of working in a DevOps/SRE environment
- Useful to have experience of a corporate enterprise environment
