Position Overview

Job Title: Enterprise Risk Analytics & Reporting - Risk Reporting Specialist, AVP

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Description

  • The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture.
  • Enterprise and Treasury Risk Management (ETRM) is a function within the Chief Risk Office. Enterprise Risk Management provides a holistic view of risk by working across risk types, businesses, and geographies. ETRM has responsibility for risk strategy & appetite, risk research, stress testing, cross-risk portfolio management, climate & environmental risk, and is also the risk controlling function for credit risk.
  • The UKI Risk team within the ETRM is responsible for production of the Bank's strategic risk reports, such as the monthly Risk & Capital Profile (RCP) for London Branch and Risk Dashboard for DB UK Bank (IPB UK). These reports provide comprehensive cross risk and credit risk specific overviews of the London Branch of Deutsche Bank and for Private Bank in the UK. They are used to inform the London Branch Chief Risk Officer, CRO leadership team, London Branch CEO, as well as other senior stakeholders such as the London Branch Board and regulators.
  • The UKI risk team also conducts targeted risk reviews, ad-hoc analyses, and projects for senior management stakeholders when required. Such reviews can be complex in nature and require a significant amount of cross-risk and across multiple levels of seniority.
  • The current role also requires performance of secretariat role for the London Branch Risk council, thereby managing the governance and actions for the council.
  • Acting as a key member of the UKI risk team, the candidate is also expected to be on top of various process and policy documents while ensuring the robustness of risk management framework. Most documents being a cross-risk papers, requires reviewing and challenging inputs provided by various stakeholders, while ensuring a timely approval of the documents.

Your key responsibilities

Risk Reporting:

  • Responsible for supporting team head delivering key risk insight through the production and delivery of regular key risk reports for senior committees and regulators
  • Supporting critical ad hoc and thematic key risk reviews, quarterly emerging risks review, including recommendations to senior management
  • Engage with colleagues and subject matter experts across Market, Credit and Non-Financial Risk as well as Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Finance
  • Pro-actively identifying key risk areas and ensuring necessary actions taken
  • Manage escalations or breaches.

Secretariat role for Risk Council:

  • Maintain calendar of the Risk Council incl. topics that require regular updates to the council and pro-actively liaise with stakeholders to arrange any updates
  • Ensure management of minutes of the risk council along with the actions.
  • Liaise with different teams as a SPOC for any queries raised by any of the stakeholders (internal/ external)

Risk Management:

  • Ensure a review and update of various policy and process documents is done within the specified periodicity.
  • Review of all regulatory notifications impacting UKI region on a regular basis
  • Preparation of gap analysis and drive any remediation plans required for closing of gaps.
  • Active involvement in strategy related discussions/ calls for DB UK Bank and London Branch as a CRO representative.
  • Driving various cross-risk projects on an ad-hoc/ need basis
  • Help drive automation improvements and use of AI

Relationship management

  • Engage with global senior leadership and subject matter experts across several disciplines (Market, Credit and Non-Financial Risk as well as Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Finance).
  • Deal independently with ad hoc queries from senior management, regulators and audit

Your skills and experience

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant university degree (Master) or equivalent necessary
  • 5y+ professional experience in at least one risk discipline (e.g. credit, market or operational risk)
  • Experience of portfolio management and / or reporting.
  • Understanding of Macro-economic and global geopolitical environment is a plus
  • Ability to influence and build relationships
  • A strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly

Competencies:

  • Hands-on working approach with good analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in challenging the status quo and superior relationship management skills
  • Ability to present information to senior management in an appropriate way (quality & format)
  • Ability to independently liaise with senior management (incl. MD level)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at once and within tight timeframes
  • Confident in handling and analyzing large amount of data
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Access and PowerPoint
