About the Company

Our client is seeking a meticulous and motivated Finance Associate Vice President to support end-to-end accounting operations for its India-based platform services organization. This role plays a vital part in executing core financial processes that support the company's several financial services origination platforms. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the AVP of Finance will contribute to a high-performing finance function by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across monthly and year-end activities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly established center of excellence, working in close coordination with global finance teams and gaining exposure to a dynamic, multiplatform environment.

About the Role

The Associate Vice President, Finance will be responsible for managing the finance infrastructure for our client's India platform, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing payroll operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the finance infrastructure for our client's India platform, covering accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian regulations, tax laws, and governance standards, and oversee payroll operations in coordination with HR.
  • Maintain internal controls and risk frameworks to safeguard assets and align with global finance teams and the U.S.-based Financial Controller.
  • Lead monthly close activities, including journal entries preparation, reconciliations, supporting work paper preparation, accounts payable, reimbursements, and dashboard reporting.
  • Oversee FP&A, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI monitoring to support strategic decisions, cost optimization, and automation initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial service providers. Support audits and assist with statutory submissions.
  • Support ad hoc finance initiatives including system enhancements and special reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders on workforce planning and compensation strategy.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 610 years of experience in accounting or finance operations with knowledge of Indian accounting standards, tax laws, statutory reporting, and governance requirements.
  • Relevant work experience at one or more of the following types of companies:
  • Management Companies or Operating Companies within an asset management or alternative investment firm
  • Public Accounting with exposure to financial services and complex corporate structures
  • Holding Companies with multi-entity financial operations
  • Financial Services Firms with multiple subsidiaries, such as private equity, asset management, or investment banking
  • Background in financial planning & analysis, modeling, scenario planning, KPI monitoring, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Experience working in multinational or cross-border environments.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial data, build dashboards, and deliver actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and Tipalti preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt and learn.
