In this role, we are looking for a passionate, hard- working, and talented Engineering Manager who can build and lead a team of senior engineers working on innovative & mission-critical software and services. Your role will involve mentoring them individually and as a team, building a strong team culture and helping them thrive and deliver great value to Students and Teachers.. Your technical experience provides guidance and best practices to the team, which ensures the quality and timeliness of deliveries.
Your Responsibilities:
Be a member of a very small group of people to think, strategize and execute a transformation for a larger cause.
Define a technology roadmap for the product you will own.
Setup, measure and optimize engineering processes for productivity.
Hire and build teams, influence the people processes for the continuous evolution of the team
Mentor and develop engineers for effective delivery of business goals
Manage operations to monitor and ensure SLA adherence and continuous reduction in KTLO
Collaborate with Academics, Product Managers, Content Operations and Business team
members.
Desired Skills & Experience:
9+ years of experience in software product development.
You thrive in building and developing great teams, people and and great products
Learner and looking to explore uncharted territories to solve problems.
Must have a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, distributed systems.
You are either an experienced manager or a senior individual contributor with strong people skills and leadership experience
Passionate about software engineering best practices
Hands-on technical leader with minimum of 2 years of experience in people management.
A proven track record of leading the architecture and delivery in a consumer internet domain.
Must have exposure to leading product development and engineering practices and developing systems & web applications from scratch.
Experience in distributed systems, highly scalable products, performance & reliability.
