Job Description: Manager Production Engineering
About the Role
The Manager Production Engineering will lead the production engineering function for electromechanical systems, ensuring seamless execution from prototype to volume manufacturing. This role requires deep technical expertise, process excellence, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to drive quality, compliance, and efficiency in a high-precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Execution
- Deliver finished units in compliance with established electromechanical production processes.
- Oversee and manage day-to-day production engineering activities to ensure timely output and quality adherence.
Planning & Coordination
- Plan and allocate resources for projects, ensuring proper coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Test, Customer, Purchase, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and on time delivery.
Process & Quality Management
- Review assembly outputs, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to IPC standards for assembly and inspections.
- Provide design feedback to E-CAD teams to improve manufacturability and yield.
- Prepare and manage comprehensive documentation including ECO, ECN, QAP, MDI, IPD, and other production-related records.
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
- Lead procurement activities and manage vendor relationships to support supply chain efficiency.
- Coordinate effectively with Electrical, Mechanical, and lab teams for seamless production execution.
Compliance & Reviews
- Independently handle defense process reviews and drive design clearance processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in production engineering or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of production processes such as reflows, manual, hybrid, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience handling complex PCB and system-level assemblies from prototype to volume production.
- Ability to analyze assembly performance and implement improvements.
- Solid knowledge of documentation practices, standards, and engineering change processes.
- Proven ability in vendor management, procurement, and supply chain coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with multiple technical teams.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in developing test jigs and validation jigs.
- Exposure to test automation and yield improvement methodologies.
- CAD expertise focused on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT).
- Familiarity with test and measurement equipment.
- Experience in microelectronics or communication equipment manufacturing.
