Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control and Testing:
- Perform quality control checks and testing of power and auxiliary converters for railway applications, specifically for traction rolling stocks, following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) provided by the R&D and engineering teams.
- Understanding of Raw Material Datasheets:
- Review and understand critical parameters in raw material datasheets for converters, ensuring specifications are met.
- QAP Design Knowledge:
- Design and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) for IQCD (Incoming Quality Control), IPQC (In-Process Quality Control), and overall quality control processes.
- Product Knowledge and Specification Review:
- Ensure thorough knowledge of product specifications and demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding product specifications.
- Routine Testing and Inspection:
- Schedule and monitor routine testing and inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
- 5S Implementation in QC/QA Department:
- Ensure adherence to 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in the QC/QA department for optimal workflow and cleanliness.
- Quality Tools and Methodologies:
- Implement and be proficient in quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) to resolve product quality issues and improve processes.
- Cost Saving and Kaizen Projects:
- Lead and participate in cost-saving and Kaizen projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste in the quality control process.
- Field Failure Analysis and Preventive Actions:
- Stay updated with field failure issues and lead the QC team in identifying and implementing preventive actions to avoid recurrence of these issues.
- Collaboration with Marketing and Service Teams:
- Regularly update railway product specifications based on feedback and interactions with the marketing and service teams, ensuring smooth information flow between teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification:
- BE in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:
- 3-6 years of experience in quality control and testing for power, auxiliary, or traction converters in the railway industry, particularly with ESD-critical electronics products.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in quality control checks and testing for railway applications, especially for power and auxiliary converters.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting raw material datasheets and understanding critical parameters.
- In-depth knowledge of QAP design for IQCD, IPQC, and QC processes.
- Strong familiarity with quality tools and methodologies like 8D, 5 Why, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
- Ability to implement cost-saving initiatives and participate in Kaizen projects.
- Computer Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong PowerPoint presentation skills for creating and presenting reports to stakeholders.
