Mid-Level Power BI Data Engineer (36 Years)
Title: Power BI Data Engineer - Azure Data Platform
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets and semantic models
- Build optimized data models using star and snowflake schemas
- Develop DAX measures for business and operational reporting
- Design and manage Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to business requirements
- Implement and maintain data refresh strategies (scheduled, incremental refresh)
- Optimize dataset and report performance (query reduction, aggregations, model tuning)
- Integrate Power BI with Azure-based data platforms (ADLS, Databricks, Azure SQL, Synapse)
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage workspace access
- Partner with data engineers to ensure reliable and scalable data pipelines
- Support production issues related to datasets, refresh failures, and report performance
- Maintain documentation for data models, measures, and reporting standards
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop & Service)
- Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M)
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and validation
- Experience working with Azure data sources (Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL, Synapse)
- Understanding of data modeling principles for analytics
- Experience implementing incremental refresh and RLS
- Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines and workspace management
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with large-scale enterprise datasets
- Exposure to Databricks SQL Warehouses or Lakehouse architectures
- Experience supporting executive and operational reporting
- Understanding of data governance and semantic layer best practices
