Job Description

Electrical Engineering — AI Data Trainer

About The Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need electrical engineers to help make it happen.

As an Electrical Engineering AI Data Trainer, you'll put your deep domain knowledge to work by designing challenging problems, crafting gold-standard solutions, and auditing AI reasoning across circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, and more. Your expertise directly shapes how the next generation of AI understands engineering.

This is a flexible, fully remote contract role — work on your own schedule, as much or as little as you like.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Advanced Problems — Create rigorous, multi-step electrical engineering problems across domains including circuit analysis, power systems, electromagnetics, signal processing, and control systems to probe and stress-test AI capabilities.
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step solutions and benchmark responses that AI models learn from and are evaluated against.
  • Audit AI Outputs — Review AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, mathematical proofs, and technical explanations for accuracy, correctness, and adherence to engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, and others).
  • Improve AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in AI logic, flag failure modes, and provide structured feedback that sharpens how models think through complex engineering problems.

Who You Are

  • Advanced Degree — Master's (in progress or completed) or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Deep Domain Knowledge — Strong foundational expertise in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, embedded systems, or signal processing.
  • Analytical Communicator — Able to explain complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in written form.
  • Detail-Oriented — High level of accuracy when reviewing mathematical derivations, circuit logic, and technical documentation.
  • No prior AI experience required — if you know electrical engineering, we'll handle the rest.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, technical writing, or quality evaluation
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, SPICE, etc.)
  • Background in engineering standards compliance or technical review

Why Join Us

  • Work on some of the most advanced AI projects in the world alongside top research teams
  • Fully remote and async — work whenever and wherever suits you
  • Freelance freedom: set your own hours, maintain full autonomy
  • Gain rare, firsthand exposure to how large language models are trained and evaluated
  • Ongoing collaboration with a global network of subject matter experts
  • Potential for contract extension and continued engagement
