JOB Summary
- We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer with 4 to 10 years of design plant design experience to join our engineering team.
- The role involves supporting the design and development of electrical systems for industrial plants, working alongside lead engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Responsible for electrical design, engineering and project execution activities for EPC and industrial projects.
- Ensure technical compliance, safety adherence and coordination with internal and external stakeholders for timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables (SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, load lists, grounding & lighting layouts)
- Perform electrical system calculations (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, earthing, arc flash, relay coordination)
- Develop specifications, datasheets and requisitions for electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, VFDs, cables)
- Participate in vendor evaluation, technical bid analysis, FAT/SAT and inspection activities
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and project teams during design and construction phases
- Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities at site as required
- Ensure compliance with project standards, IEC/IEEE/IS codes, and safety & quality requirements
- Prepare bill of materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and lighting layouts
- Collaborate with instrumentation, mechanical, and civil teams for integrated design
- Review and interpret P&IDs, electrical specifications, and client standards
- Participate in design reviews, vendor drawing evaluations, and site coordination
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, and other relevant standards
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 4 to 10 years of project experience in plant design, power systems, or industrial automation
- Solid experience in electrical design & engineering in EPC/industrial projects
- Hands-on exposure to software tools (ETAP / SKM / EPLAN / AutoCAD / Navisworks)
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification and electrical safety practices
- Good understanding of LV/MV systems, cable sizing, protection schemes, and power distribution
- Strong documentation, coordination and stakeholder communication abilities
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and industrial practices
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
