Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Airfield Electrical Engineer to take charge of our Aviation Infrastructure projects. In this role, you will not only design, develop, and implement airfield lighting systems but also coordinate across multiple disciplines. This position requires a blend of advanced technical expertise in electrical and strong leadership skills to ensure safe, compliant, and innovative airfield operations.
- Lead and manage Airfield Electrical designs, ensuring high-quality deliverables and continuous professional development.
- Performs complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects, as either the Project Electrical Lead or Subject Matter Expert, including preparation of engineering calculations, drawings and reports.
- Power distribution design.
- Design of Airfield electrical infrastructure, Field Electrical Centres, regulators, cabling, Ground Power Units (GPU), PCA, transformers, flood lights and other related systems.
- Field Quality Control and lighting level measurements.
- Thorough understanding of various local Electrical Code.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and design documentation for equipment such as GPU, PCA, Transformers, Flood lights, lighting fixtures and other related systems.
- Lead design review sessions and quality verification processes to ensure adherence to project timelines and safety standards.
- Oversee the integration of Electrical systems with other airport infrastructure in collaboration with civil, AGL and communication engineers.
- Manage contractor submittals, RFIs, and design modifications during the construction phase.
- Supervise site surveys and inspections to ensure installations meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop strategic plans for both new installations and the rehabilitation of existing electrical systems, incorporating sustainable and energy-efficient technologies.
- Engage in stakeholder meetings, providing updates and ensuring that project objectives align with overall aviation infrastructure goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in electrical design of related aviation systems, with at least 5 years in Airfield Electrical design management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in aviation standards including ICAO Annex 14, FAA Advisory Circulars (particularly 150/5340 series), and EASA regulations.
- Proficiency with electrical design software, CAD tools, and lighting calculation applications such as DIALUX.
- Strong communication, project management, and strategic planning skills.

- Proven track record in leading engineering teams and managing large-scale aviation projects.
- Experience with both new airport developments and the rehabilitation of existing airfield electrical systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable lighting practices and energy-efficient LED technologies.
