Job Title: EHS Executive (Environment, Health & Safety)
Location: Bangalore
Job Summary:
The EHS Executive is responsible for ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations across all sites. The role focuses on implementing safety standards, minimizing workplace risks, and promoting a strong safety culture through proactive monitoring, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. EHS Implementation & Compliance
- Establish and implement EHS standards and practices across all sites
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national EHS regulations
- Maintain all statutory records, licenses, and documentation
- Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies when required
2. Safety Monitoring & Inspections
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks
- Monitor adherence to safety procedures and guidelines
- Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Identify unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions
3. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Perform risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Identify hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures
- Continuously evaluate workplace risks and recommend improvements
4. Incident Management
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Maintain records of incidents and track closure of action items
5. Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction programs for new employees
- Develop and implement an annual EHS training calendar
- Organize regular toolbox talks and awareness sessions
- Promote a strong safety culture across all employees and vendors
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement emergency response plans
- Coordinate during emergencies such as fire, evacuation, or chemical incidents
- Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency equipment
- Organize mock drills (fire drills, evacuation drills, etc.)
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly EHS reports
- Track safety KPIs and performance metrics
- Maintain records related to inspections, audits, incidents, and training
8. Site Coordination & Support
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with EHS standards
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and vendor teams
- Support implementation of safe work practices across all activities
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's / master's degree in environmental science / engineering
- Diploma in Industrial Safety (preferred)
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in EHS / Safety roles
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of EHS laws and regulations
- Good observation, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and training abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with patience and perseverance
- Ability to influence and promote a safety-first culture
