Primary Job Title: Consultant Neurologist (DM / DNB)

About The Opportunity

A leading healthcare provider in the tertiary-care and specialty neurology sector, delivering advanced inpatient and outpatient neurological services across India. We operate high-volume hospital campuses with multidisciplinary teams, modern neuroimaging, dedicated stroke units, and neurocritical-care facilities to provide evidence-based care for complex neurological disorders.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care in outpatient clinics and inpatient wardsconduct consultations, diagnostic evaluation, and long-term management for neurological disorders.
  • Lead acute stroke and neurocritical-care management including thrombolysis, coordination with stroke unit protocols, and critical-care decision-making.
  • Interpret and report EEG, EMG/NCV, and CSF analyses; perform lumbar puncture and other routine neuroprocedures as required.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care pathways with neurosurgery, radiology, rehabilitation, and allied specialties to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff; participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to academic activitiescase presentations, teaching rounds, and participation in clinical research or publications.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • DM / DNB (DrNB) in Neurology with current medical registration in India and eligibility to practice in hospital settings.
  • Proven experience managing a broad range of neurological conditions, including acute stroke and neurocritical-care cases.
  • Competency in EEG, EMG/NCV interpretation and performing lumbar punctures; familiarity with neuroimaging reports (CT/MRI).
  • Strong clinical judgment, excellent bedside manner, and ability to manage high-volume outpatient clinics and on-call duties.
  • Good documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital protocols.
  • Effective communicator with demonstrated teamwork and leadership within multidisciplinary hospital environments.

Preferred

  • Experience working in tertiary-care hospitals or large multispecialty centres, ideally with prior exposure to Fortis or similar private hospital systems.
  • Experience with advanced stroke interventions, neuroimmunology, neuromuscular clinics, or neurocritical-care fellowship training.
  • Active involvement in teaching, clinical research, audits, or publications.
