We're hiring a
Director of Engineering to lead the design, scale, and operation of complex, high-impact technology platforms. This role is for a senior engineering leader who combines deep technical judgment with people leadership and a strong product mindset.
You'll be responsible for building resilient, scalable systems that power business-critical use caseswhile also shaping teams, processes, and culture to move the organization toward a modern, product-led engineering model. You will partner closely with product, data, and business leaders to ensure technology decisions directly translate into customer value and measurable outcomes.
What You'll Own
Engineering Leadership & Team Growth
Lead multiple engineering pods or teams, setting clear technical direction and execution standards.
Hire, coach, and develop senior engineers and managers, building a strong leadership bench.
Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Scale teams thoughtfully while maintaining quality, velocity, and morale.
Platform & Architecture Ownership
Define and govern system architectures for large-scale platforms, including backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
Ensure systems are designed for scalability, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Make high-leverage architectural decisions that balance speed, cost, and technical risk.
Review and guide designs for mission-critical and regulated systems.
Product-Driven Engineering
Drive the shift from project-based execution to durable, product-oriented platforms.
Partner with product leaders to translate business goals and user needs into technical roadmaps.
Ensure engineering work is aligned with clear success metrics, customer outcomes, and platform KPIs.
Push for reusable systems over one-off solutions.
AI & Data-Ready Systems
Enable AI/ML capabilities by designing systems that support experimentation, deployment, and scale.
Collaborate with data and ML teams to ensure infrastructure supports model training, inference, and monitoring.
Make pragmatic architecture decisions that allow AI features to evolve without destabilizing core systems.
Delivery, Operations & Excellence
Establish engineering processes that improve predictability, delivery speed, and system stability.
Own operational readiness, including deployments, observability, incident response, and reliability practices.
Set and enforce standards for code quality, documentation, testing, and security.
Ensure systems in production are actively used, measurable, and continuously improved.
What We're Looking For
10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale software systems.
4+ years in senior engineering leadership roles, managing teams of 820+ engineers.
Strong expertise in system design, distributed systems, APIs, cloud platforms, and data architectures.
Experience scaling teams and platforms in growth-stage or enterprise environments.
Proven ability to transition organizations from services or project delivery to product or SaaS models.
Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts and how to architect systems that support them.
Track record of delivering systems that are live, stable, and used by real customers.
Comfortable operating in flat, high-ownership environments with minimal bureaucracy.
Strong execution bias with attention to operational rigor and long-term sustainability.
