Role Description

Fountainhead School is seeking a passionate and committed DP Chemistry Teacher for a full-time, on-site role at our Surat campus. The Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons, fostering a deep understanding of chemistry concepts, and inspiring curiosity and critical thinking in students. Additional responsibilities include assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, collaborating with colleagues for interdisciplinary approaches, and contributing to the professional development and cultural life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver interactive lessons aligned with the IB Diploma programme Chemistry curriculum.
  • Create an inquiry-based classroom environment that emphasizes conceptual understanding and real-life scientific connections.
  • Guide students in designing and conducting laboratory experiments safely and effectively.
  • Mentor students in completing their Internal Assessments (IAs) and support Extended Essay research in Chemistry.
  • Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments in accordance with IB assessment criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, grades, and laboratory documentation.
  • Integrate technology, simulations, and data analysis tools into instruction to enhance scientific learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, moderation, and cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Participate in ongoing IB professional development workshops and school-wide training programs.
  • Contribute to science exhibitions, academic events, and other initiatives that promote a culture of curiosity and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Chemistry standards, lab safety protocols, and experimental techniques.
  • Proficient in using digital platforms and tools for instruction, simulation, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • Passion for fostering scientific inquiry, environmental awareness, and lifelong learning among students.

Work Timings: Monday to Saturday | 7:40 AM – 3:45 PM

(Occasional extended hours may be required based on school needs)

Salary Range: ₹55,000 – ₹65,000 per month
