Job Description

Job Title: Digital Transformation Lead – Manufacturing

Location: Pune – Akurdi

Department: IT / Digital Transformation Office

Reporting to: Head – IT / Group CDIO

Experience: 15+ years (Manufacturing domain preferred)

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Job Purpose:

To lead and drive digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency, and innovation. The role requires a strong understanding of automotive business processes, IT-OT integration, and industry 4.0 technologies. The candidate should also be capable of coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver scalable digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive digital transformation strategy for manufacturing plants, focusing on process digitization, analytics, and smart factory initiatives.
  • Identify digital use cases across functions , shop floor, supply chain, quality, maintenance, and implement scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with functional departments to reimagine workflows using digital tools like IoT, AI/ML, MES, and cloud platforms.
  • Coordinate end-to-end project execution—requirements, vendor evaluation, PoC, implementation, and change management.
  • Ensure smooth IT-OT integration for connected factory projects; work closely with operations and plant engineering teams.
  • Have working knowledge of SAP business processes to align digital initiatives with ERP and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity and infra teams to ensure digital solutions comply with IT security and governance policies.
  • Monitor digital KPIs and ROI from implemented initiatives; continuously refine the roadmap based on insights and business inputs.
  • Collaborate with external technology partners, startups, and OEMs to adopt relevant innovations.
  • Lead internal communication and awareness for digital transformation across business units and plants.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive and manufacturing business processes.
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies: IoT, AI/ML, MES, cloud platforms, RPA, digital twins, etc.
  • Familiarity with SAP (MM, PP, QM, SD) modules and integration points.
  • Experience in IT-OT architecture, including protocols (OPC UA, Modbus), edge devices, and automation systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management, project leadership, and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Educational Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Engineering / Computer Science / Electronics
