Digital Marketing Specialist

Digital Marketing | Entry to Early Career | 1–2 Years Experience | On-site

Location: Mylapore, Chennai.

Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's social media presence and the operational execution of paid advertising campaigns. This role is suited to an early-career professional who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise across both organic social and paid media functions. The Specialist will work under the guidance of a senior team member and will play an active role in maintaining brand consistency, community engagement, and the smooth running of Meta Ads Manager operations.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

1. Social Media Platform Management

Content Posting & Scheduling

  • Plan and publish organic content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others as applicable) in line with the content calendar
  • Ensure all posts are accurately formatted, correctly tagged, and published on schedule
  • Coordinate with the creative and content teams to receive assets and copy in a timely manner
  • Maintain brand consistency in tone, visual identity, and messaging across all platforms

Community Management – Comments & DMs

  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across platforms in a timely and brand-appropriate manner
  • Escalate queries, complaints, or sensitive interactions to the relevant team member when required
  • Maintain a consistent and engaging brand voice in all community interactions
  • Track and log common queries, feedback themes, and audience sentiment to inform content and strategy

Social Listening

  • Monitor brand mentions, hashtags, and relevant conversations across social platforms
  • Track competitor activity and flag notable trends, campaigns, or community discussions to the team
  • Compile periodic social listening summaries highlighting key audience signals and emerging topics
  • Use listening insights to surface content or engagement opportunities to the wider team

Monthly Performance Reporting

  • Own and generate all monthly performance reports covering both organic social and paid media, in accordance with the standard reporting template
  • Compile data from relevant platforms and ensure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within agreed timelines
  • Coordinate with relevant team members to gather any supplementary data or context required to complete the reports

2. Paid Media – Meta Ads Manager Operations

Campaign Setup & Execution Support

  • Assist in the setup and launch of paid advertising campaigns within Meta Ads Manager (Facebook & Instagram)
  • Create and configure campaigns, ad sets, and ads in accordance with briefs and guidelines provided by the senior team
  • Upload creatives, apply correct targeting parameters, set budgets and schedules as directed
  • Ensure accurate implementation of tracking elements including pixel events and UTM parameters, coordinating with the relevant team where needed

Ads Manager Operations & Quality Checks

  • Perform pre-launch quality checks to ensure all campaign elements are correctly set up before going live
  • Monitor active campaigns for delivery issues, disapprovals, or errors and flag these promptly
  • Manage basic day-to-day administrative tasks within Ads Manager including budget pacing checks, ad status monitoring, and asset organisation
  • Maintain organised naming conventions and folder structures across campaigns and ad accounts

Reporting Support

  • Pull performance data from Meta Ads Manager and compile into standardised reporting templates
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly performance reports under the guidance of a senior team member
  • Flag any significant changes in delivery, spend, or performance metrics to the team for review

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with the creative team to ensure social content assets and ad creatives are received on time and meet platform specifications
  • Work with internal stakeholders to align on content calendars, campaign timelines, and approval workflows
  • Maintain up-to-date trackers and documentation to ensure visibility across ongoing tasks and deliverables
  • Support senior team members with any administrative or operational tasks related to platform management and paid media execution

4. Learning & Platform Awareness

  • Stay informed about updates to Meta Ads Manager, social platform features, and relevant policy changes
  • Proactively flag new ad formats, platform tools, or feature rollouts that may be relevant to current work
  • Participate in team discussions, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to continue building skills

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and an understanding of how each platform operates for brands
  • Basic working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, including campaign structure and navigation
  • Strong attention to detail in execution, content accuracy, and quality checks
  • Good written communication skills, with the ability to maintain a consistent brand voice in community interactions
  • Organised and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic analytical ability to read platform metrics and identify anomalies or trends

Education and Experience           

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in a social media, digital marketing, or related role (agency or in-house)
  • Hands-on experience managing social media accounts and/or supporting paid media campaigns
  • Exposure to Meta Ads Manager is preferred; formal certification is a plus but not required
