Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Dietitian to join our dynamic team at Spandana Hospital in Bangalore. This is a full-time position ideal for candidates with 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience. The Dietitian will contribute to patient wellness by providing expert nutritional guidance and support, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Nutrition Assessment (Mandatory skill): Demonstrated ability to comprehensively evaluate patients nutritional needs through assessment tools and patient histories.
  • Meal Planning (Mandatory skill): Competence in designing individualized and culturally appropriate meal plans for diverse patient populations.
  • Patient Counseling (Mandatory skill): Excellent skills in communicating dietary advice and motivating patients to adopt healthier lifestyle choices.
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy: Ability to develop and implement therapeutic nutrition care plans for acute and chronic medical conditions in a hospital setting.
  • Food Safety: In-depth knowledge of principles and protocols that ensure safe food handling, preparation, and storage in healthcare environments.
  • Dietary Guidelines: Familiarity with national and international dietary guidelines to inform clinical practices and recommendations for patients.
  • Effective documentation: Proficient in maintaining detailed patient records and nutritional care documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
  • Collaboration with medical staff: Experience working alongside physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to achieve coordinated patient care.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and address individual dietary requirements of patients across various medical needs.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based meal plans in accordance with therapeutic and preventive dietary needs.
  • Deliver effective counseling and education to patients and their families on nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and health promotion.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, modify nutrition plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support to optimize dietary compliance and health improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with medical professionals to integrate nutrition interventions within the broader patient care plan.
  • Uphold highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene in all aspects of food service and dietary management.
  • Document all patient interactions, nutritional assessments, and care plans accurately in the hospitals medical record system.
  • Stay updated with recent developments in clinical nutrition, dietary therapies, and hospital nutrition best practices.
